Mexican Talavera Mug

8 x 10"
oil on Ampersand Gessoboard
$50
$5 s/h

This mug came from a great store in Tucson that had all of this gorgeous handpainted pottery organized by color. So, you moved through the red section into the green, and on and on. I used to have four of these, but now there are only two. This is because my cat likes to play in the sink.

I bought a new jar of cherries and this is the only one in the whole jar with a stem. Outrageous!

I got inspired to try painting this small by Duane Keiser. It's fun! Here's another shot for scale:

Radishes

This one kind of goes with the one I painted yesterday - they are the same size, on the same type of panel. They have a built-in hanging slot on the back so they don't need to be framed to hang on the wall.

Red Pear Slices

10 x 10"
oil on panel
$85
$5 s/h

It's a very overcast day here, and I think this photo came out a little darker and gloomier than it should have. Anyway, I'm off to eat this pear!

Gold and Blue

6 x 6"
oil on gessoed watercolor paper
$40
$5 s/h

These little grape tomatoes are great because if you don't like your composition, you can just move them around a little bit. That's about all these are good for at this point, since they've gone kind of squishy sitting under the light for two days.

Red and Gold

8 x 10"
oil on canvas
NFS

I love the golden colors in this little vase. I painted this right after the one I posted yesterday - I just wasn't ready to stop using all those gorgeous colors I mixed. I guess I'm getting some serious mileage out of that broken flower-top, too. Funny that I was annoyed when I got home, pulled the flowers out of their wrapper, and this little head fell out on the counter.

Orange Flowers

11 X 14"

Just like yesterday, my favorite part is the little orange highlight in the shadow of the wineglass. If anyone has any tips about what colors to use when painting the shiny highlights on green leaves, please let me know!

Candlestick and Plum

11 x 14"
oil on Ampersand Gessoboard
$150

Email me to purchase.

This one is a little larger than normal, and it was my first time using the Gessoboard. I guess Gessoboard is the same thing as the gessoed masonite panels I make myself, but it has an almost eggshell-like surface, and, of course, it never warps on you.

Cream and Sugar

12 x 12"
oil on masonite
$100

Had to take yesterday off to go to work and do some house cleaning. I think the day off helped me paint even better today...or maybe it was the value study I did the other day. In any case, this painting came out well, I think.
