ROY

6 x 8"
oil on gallery wrap canvas

When I learned the colors of the spectrum, memorizing the name ROY G. BIV was the trick suggested for remembering the order. Some lessons, like bad commercial jingles, stick forever. I came up with the idea for this painting, and the title, while lying in bed sometime before dawn this morning, feeling all the crazy karate action inside my belly. This little girl is going to be a gymnast or something!

Oh! This painting is just delicious, Sarah. Of course I love when the red teapot is the star. I'm delighting in your great reflected colors in the forward orange and in the lost edges in the lemons. Powerful and delicate all at once. Wonderful!

I love this one!! You know, I find it amazing that while you are growing and creating this little baby inside of you, you still have any energy left to create these gorgeous paintings! You are truly an artist!
