Squash in a Bowl

8 x 8"
oil on canvas

We visited a pumpkin farm over the weekend, and I fell in love with the colors of fall all over again! The enormous bins of different squash are so tempting, with their eye-popping patterns. Although it was grey and foggy, it was nice to be out in the country, and we came home with a trunk-full of new painting subjects - AND a thirty-pound pumpkin for the little boy that lives inside my husband.

Sarah, I was hoping you might paint some squash soon! I loved the ones you did last year, so I was excited to see these, you always do such a great job arranging colors and shapes..in all of your paintings.

Thanks, Debbie! Revisiting the same subjects every year really shows me how my techniques and ideas progress.
