"Grapes and Asian Pears" fruit bowl painting fine art still life original oil

8 x 8"
oil on canvas
Sold

These grapes did not come from the grocery store, folks. This time of year makes every back yard feel like the land of milk and honey (or Harry and David). As soon as I post this, I'm heading up into the woods to pick blackberries! I've never tried to paint blackberries - too many little lumpy bumps - but I've seen others do it beautifully. Maybe I should try...

I've gotten write-ups recently on a couple lovely blogs, and I wanted to share them with you. Under Lock and Key is hosting a painting giveaway, so please check that out and enter! And also visit Domestically Unemployed if you're feeling like you haven't gotten your recommended daily allowance of Sarah.

Oh I wish I lived in a place where I could go gather some real fresh fruit! I bet they taste as wonderful as they look.

I like the way you captured the cool, blue waxiness of the grapes combined with the warm transmitted light passing through them. Looks good enough to eat!

Thanks, John - I was worried that I didn't quite do the grapes justice. That cool blue mist is so elusive to try and capture. Kristin - thanks for stopping by! :)

I have a great piece of oil on canvas and would like to know who did it.

Need to know how to download the picture. And the artist signature.
